Power cuts caused by flooding affect hundreds of homes in Central Viet Nam

As of Saturday afternoon, persistent heavy rain in some parts of Central Viet Nam has triggered widespread flooding and caused cut off power for around 108,000 homes across the region, according to data published by the Electricity Viet Nam's Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC).

Power companies have temporarily cut off the power supply in heavily flooded localities, including Da Nang, and the provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam, in a bid to ensure the ultimate safety of their customers.

In total, 804 electricity substations in heavily flooded localities across Central Viet Nam have been temporarily switched off for safety concerns.
