Mr Hoang Nguyen Son, a supervising engineer of the project, said work began on the traffic re-arrangement at the western end of the Tran Thi Ly Bridge on 29 March to mark the 45th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Da Nang.

The construction units are the Civil Engineering Construction Corporation JSC (CIENCO4), the Ha Noi-based Xuan Quang Consulting Investment Construction JSC, the Da Nang-headquartered the 319 Central JSC, and Ho Chi Minh City-based Thanh Phat Co.,Ltd.

Till date, the driving of concrete sheet piles SW400 measuring 187m in total length has been completed, whilst 90% of the demolition of old asphalt road surface at the construction site has been already finished.

Colonel Mai Huu Quan, Director of the 319 Central JSC, said his unit is deploying full construction personnel, and construction machine and equipment, to ensure the on-schedule progress of the traffic re-arrangement work in a bid to meet the growing travel demand of local residents.

In particular, the site clearance work is in well progress. The relocation of underground drainage systems, trees and flowers, has been already completed.

Director Quang said, during this month, the focus will be on installing bored piles, building approach roads to the bridge, and constructing new drainage systems along extended Nguyen Son Tra Street.

Director of the city’s Management Board of Traffic Project Investment and Construction Le Van Lam said construction workers are working 3 shifts a day to keep progress on track.

In addition, the Management Board has asked the contractors to ensure that their workers make themselves aware of the health and safety risks involved in work on the site and the way those risks are managed, as well as always follow site rules and procedures.
