The Da Nang government has issued a plan on boosting the development of logistics services and seaports in a bid to devop Da Nang into a major marine economic hub in Viet Nam.

Under the plan, the focus will be on fully tapping the city's available potentials for developing logistics services in order to boost production and raise the competitiveness of logistics service providers in the city.

Special attention will be paid to increasing the number of logistics service providers in the city, and improving the quality of their services, as well as enhancing the management of logistics services in the city.

Also, more preferential policies will be issued for logistics service providers, whilst appeals will be made for domestic and foreign investment into the construction of logistics centres in the city.

New logistics centres in the city will together handle 25%, 30%, 34.5% and 50% of the total volume of cargo transported through the Da Nang Port by 2020, 2025, 2030 and 2045 respectively.

Importance will be attached to upgrading the Da Nang International Airport to ensure its annual capacity of handling between 28 and 30 million passengers, and 200,000 tonnes of cargo by 2030.

The volume of cargo handled through the seaports will reach 27.2 million tonnes by 2030, and 92.5 million tonnes by 2045.

In addition, the city will develop Lien Chieu Port into a major cargo and container port, and turn the Tien Sa Port into a modern cruise ship port in the central region.
