Some city key projects approved

Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho has signed a decision approving a project to expand the municipal Software Park.

The intention is to realise the target set by the Decision No 1967/QD-TTg issued on 7 December 2017 by the Prime Minister about the Park’s recognition as a centralised information technology (IT) area.

Also, the aim is to ensure enough premises for businesses operating in this Park in the 2020-2025 period, as well as to solve the issues raised by participating businesspeople at the recent ‘Talk of Spring’ programme.

The project will be implemented under the public-private partnership (PPP) format.

In particular, the allocation of public investment of 80 billion from the city budget will be conducted in two phases to deploy the project.

Work is expected to start on the 1st phase of the project during this year. The focus will be on the construction of some basic technical infrastructure, including fences, gates, green space, public transport, as well as rainwater drainage, fire fighting and prevention, and lighting systems.

Meanwhile, the 2nd phase will be carried out next year. Accordingly, a 6-storey building giving a total floor area of 1,000m2 will be built. The building will feature an intelligent data centre, a display area for IT products, a reception area, hall –meeting rooms.

Private investment from organisations and enterprises will be poured into constructing software and digital content manufacturing factories, and IT service area.

Besides, the Da Nang authorities have given a nod to spend nearly 472 billion VND from the city budget on building the Centre for Neurological Surgery, Traumatology and Orthopaedics at the Da Nang General Hospital.

The construction of the 5,452m2, 407-hospital bed project is set to be completed by 2022.

Also, over 292 billion VND from the  budget will go to implement the 2nd stage of the cardiovascular centre of the Da Nang General Hospital.

The 4,020m2 project will help to enhance the quality of medical examinations and treatment for patients from the city as well as the central region and Central Highlands.

The project is expected to be deployed during the 2018 - 2021 period.
