Work on this stage started in June 2015 and it completed in September 2016.

The plant, with a daily treatment capacity of between 27,000m3 and 40,800 m3, was officially put into operation in January 2017. Its discharged wastewater meets A-grade quality which is the national standard for industrial wastewater.

Recently, the municipal authorities have given the go-ahead for spending 321.5 billion VND from the local budget to implement the 2nd phase of the project.

The project will help to ensure that the discharge meets the national standards. In addition, it will resolve the environmental pollution in the basins of the Bau Sau Lake, and the Phu Loc and Da Co canals, as well as create a healthy environment for residents nearby.

Work is expected to start on the 2nd phase of the project in mid-April, and the upgrade is scheduled to be completed in May 2020.

Once fully operation, the plant’s daily capacity is expected to increase to 65,000m3. In particular, the discharged wastewater will meet A-grade quality which is the national standard for industrial wastewater.

During his inspection, Deputy Secretary Tri asked the Seen Technical Joint Stock Company - the project’s developer - to continue ensuring the smooth operation of the 1st stage of the Phu Loc wastewater treatment plant.

In addition, the municipal Management Board of Traffic Project Investment and Construction and EPC contractors will ensure the process of the 2nd phase of a project to upgrade the Phu Loc wastewater treatment plant, as well as ensure the safety for construction workers.

Also on the same day, the city’s leaders paid an inspection visit to the construction site of the 1st stage of a smart parking garage project at 255 Phan Chau Trinh in Hai Chau District.

According to the municipal Management Board of Traffic Project Investment and Construction, the building of fire protection water storage tanks, fences, and foundation has been already completed.

Meanwhile, the construction of warehouses, pump rooms, and restrooms is underway.

Deputy Secretary Tri also asked the project’s developer to ensure that the project would be officially put into use in August.
