In attendance at the event were Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Vo Cong Tri, municipal People's Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho, municipal People's Council Chairman Nguyen Nho Trung and People's Committee Vice Chairman Le Trung Chinh.

According to Mr Kevin Loebbaka, Chief Operating Officer for Universal Alloy Corporation, the project deployment is divided into 2 stages. The 1st stage, covering an area of more than 10.9 ha is expected to be completed in January 2020, whilst the 2nd stage, covering more than 5.8 ha, is slated to start in April 2023.

Next year, the Sunshine factory is scheduled to start exporting its products to UAC's partners worldwide, including Boeing and Airbus.

This important project aims to export aircraft components to North America and Europe worth an estimated 25 million$ by 2021, 85 million$ a year later, and 180 million$ annually from 2026 onwards.

UAC is a leading global manufacturer of aircraft components for aerospace companies such as Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, Bombardier, and their associated supply chains.

Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony, municipal People's Council Chairman Nguyen Nho Trung remarked that, the Da Nang Hi-tech Park is aiming to reach the goal of developing into the “nucleus” of the city’s northwestern region, a big scientific and technological centre in Viet Nam, thereby partly acerbating to the city’s socio-economic growth.

Given that fact, Chairman Trung underlined a need for UAC to ensure the on-scheduled implementation of the project, and give support for the organisation of investment promotion activities in the Hi-tech Park in the coming time.
