Many important projects to be deployed to celebrate the city's liberation

Work is expected to start on many important projects in Da Nang to celebrate the 44th anniversary of the city’s Liberation (29 March). This positive result has mainly been attributed to the city’s great efforts in investment attraction, laying a foundation for bolstering its future progress.

The 100 million US$ Mikazuki Spa & Hotel Resort project helps to accelerate the growth of northwestern coastal areas.

The 100 million US$ Mikazuki Spa & Hotel Resort project in Lien Chieu District’s Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, developed by the Japan-based Katsura Hotel Mikazuki Co. Ltd., started on Thursday noon, covering an area of 12.2ha near the Xuan Thieu Beach.

Mr Dam Quang Hung, the Chairman of the Lien Chieu District People's Committee highly appreciated the implementation of this large-scale project for accelerating the growth of northwestern coastal areas. Therefore, the district authorities will strongly support, and create the most favourable possible conditions for Mikazuki Hotel Group to deploy its project successfully.

Another large-scale project drawing great public attention is the 170 million USD Sunshine aerospace components manufacturing project which will be developed by the Universal Alloy Corporation Asia Pte. LTD-UAC at the Da Nang Hi-tech Park.

The groundbreaking ceremony for this project is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Friday.

This is a pioneering project in the aspect of manufacturing aerospace components in Da Nang. Moreover, the presence of the Sunshine factory is expected to develop the city’s support industries, attracting even more investors which are in UAC's supply chain network.

Mr Kevin Loebbaka, Chief Operating Officer for Universal Alloy Corporation said, during the implementation progress, UAC is committed to ensure environmental protection and public health, occupational safety, the development of local suppliers and manufacturers.

The project aims to export aircraft components to North America and Europe worth an estimated 25 million$ in 2021 and 82 million$ in 2022, before aiming for more than 180 million $ of exports on an ongoing annual basis by 2026.

UAC is a leading global manufacturer of aircraft components for aerospace companies such as Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, Bombardier and their associated supply chains.

UAC Viet Nam will initially supply fuselage components for Boeing’s 787, 777 and 737 aircrafts; and engine elements for Rolls Royce in the Da Nang-based plant for export to North America, the EU, and Malaysia. Over the 2019-2020 period, the project is expected to recruit about 1,700 - 2,000 employees.

In the coming time, UAC will establish cooperation with the city’s University of Science and Technology, the Vocational Training Junior College in human resource training.

Also tomorrow, a street, which links the Da Nang IT Park in Hoa Vang District with the Hi-Tech Park, ring road on the western side of the city and the extended Nguyen Tat Thanh route, will officially open to traffic.

It is expected that, by the end of the 2nd quarter of this year, the R-14 bus connecting the city center to the Hi-Tech and IT parks will have been put into use.

The 1st stage of the Da Nang IT Park in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Lien Commune, developed by the Trung Nam Group will be completed after one year of construction on 131ha with total investment of 82 million US$.

Covering a total area of 341ha, the 278 million$ park highlights a design similar to Silicon Valley in the USA and the Hsinchu Science Park in Taiwan.

It expects to create revenue of 1.5 billion$ each year, 25,000 jobs and a satellite city of 100,000 people.

The 196 million USD 2nd stage will be implemented on an area of 210ha.

As planned, the Trung Nam Group will build a 500-bed hospital worth 53 million $ in the Golden Hills residential area to cater to residents and employees working at the IT Park.
