According to the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park Management Board, the technical infrastructure of the 1st and 2nd stages of this ongoing project has basically been completed.

Currently, a total of 400ha of land on which adequate technical infrastructure has been developed are available for use by investors.

Also, 80% of the internal roads under the 1st and 2nd stages of the Hi-tech Park project has to date been completed. A 40MVA transformer and internet infrastructure with the fiber optics have already been installed.

The Hoa Trung Water Supply Plant with a daily capacity of 10,000m3 is already well underway at the Hi-tech Park.

The project costs nearly 80 billion VND funded from the Da Nang Water Supply Company (DAWACO) budget and other financial sources. It is expected to be completed in the 2nd quarter of next year, much earlier than scheduled.

Once it is fully operational, the Hoa Trung Water Supply Plant will ensure sufficient water supplies to all businesses operating at the Hi-tech Park as well as residents living on the northwest side of the city.

Besides, working is progressing well on such auxiliary facilities as a wastewater treatment plant, hi-tech business incubation centre, and an administrative centre at the Hi-tech Park.

To date, dedicated wastewater treatment systems have been put into operation in the total 6 local industrial parks.

In an attempt to turn the existing Hoa Khanh IP into an eco-IP on a trial basis in the coming time, existing industrial production establishments here are being encouraged to make a shift to environmentally-friendly business segments. Such steelmaking enterprises as Tan Hien Co Ltd and Thanh Tin steelmaking cooperative at this IP have been asked to halt their production.

In a similar vein, the Da Nang Steel JSC at the Lien Chieu Industrial Park has also been required to remove its steel billet production line and make a shift to an environmentally-friendly business segment.

According to the municipal Department of Planning and Investment, in line with the city’s project for making adjustments to the development of IPs by 2020, the city is completing the procedures for the establishment of 3 new IPs, namely the 2nd phase of the Hoa Cam IP covering a total area of 148.1ha, the 405.5ha Hoa Nhon IP, and the 400ha Hoa Ninh IP.

Following instructions from the city leaders, the Da Nang IPs and Export Processing Zone Authority and the commune-level authorities have already announced widely the boundary demarcation work for the development of the above-mentioned IPs. This is the first step in the process of planning new IPs, creating land funds to attract investment into these IPs in the coming time.

Relevant local agencies will complete investment preparation procedures and the selection of qualified infrastructure investors, under the direction of the municipal government in a prompt manner.

Noticeably, site clearance and compensation for the would-be Hoa Nhon IP is now underway.
