Addressing the signing ceremony, Deputy Director of the municipal Tourism Department Nguyen Xuan Binh said the installation work is expected to be completed in September. He added the city is setting its target of installing surveillance cameras in a total of about 300 tourist coaches.

In his remarks at the event, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung highlighted the significance of the installation of surveillance cameras in tourist coaches in ensuring the safety and effective management of passengers, drivers, assistant drivers and tour guides, as well as in enhancing the quality of services, and building brand names for local transport service providers.

Mr Dung noted that new regulations should be set soon to ensure the smooth operation and effective management of the transport service providers. He hoped that the providers, the municipal Travel Association and relevant agencies would join their efforts with the city government to effectively implement this policy.

He also pledged that the city authorities would provide active support for the transport service providers if needed.

“While waiting for the central government’s official policy, Da Nang has pioneered in installing surveillance cameras in tourist coaches. This is considered as a positive move to help Da Nang build its smart tourism sector on the basis of smart city”, Vice Chairman Dung added.
