Cambodian Prince injured, wife killed in car crash

Cambodia's Prince Norodom Ranariddh, head of Funcinpec Party, was seriously injured and his wife was killed in a car crash in Preah Sihanouk province in 17 June.

The accident occurred in the morning when Prince Ranadiddh, 74, a son of late King Norodom Sihanouk, and his wife, Ouk Phalla, were travelling to meet supporters of his party in the southwestern province.

According to the local police, the couple was badly injured but his wife could not survive. Prince Ranariddh was taken in a helicopter to the capital city of Phnom Penh for an emergency rescue.

In 2015, the couple also involved in a road accident in Kampong Cham province, leaving Ouk Phalla severely injured.
