Through appeals for aids by the Da Nang Association of Charities and Children’s Rights Protection, the UK’s Siloam Christian Ministries, also known as the Siloam organisation, recently granted scholarships to a total of 53 local needy students and pupils, with each worth between 1 million VND and 3 million VND.

The intention aimed at helping these disadvantaged recipients to overcome their difficulties, and to continue pursuing their dreams of studying.

Also recently, work started on the construction of a house for poor woman Vo Thi Nam, who resides in Thanh Khe District’s Tan Chinh Ward.

The construction cost of 50 million VND is donated by the city-based Ha Giang Phuoc Tuong Mechanical Engineering Company (HGPT Mechanical) through the Association of Charities and Children’s Rights Protection.

This new charity house is expected to put into use in August this year.

Living in a very poor circumstance, the elderly woman now earns only a little money from doing unstable jobs, and she must shoulder a heavy burden of raising 2 school-aged grandchildren.
