Mexican sculptor to meet with city's sculptors tomorrow

Mexican sculptor Paloma Torres will meet with local sculptors and discuss her arts at Da Nang’s Fine Arts Museum tomorrow, 7 April.

Torres, 58, received her bachelor’s degree from the School of Visual Arts in the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where she also earned her master’s in colour engraving.

Torres has participated in more than 100 exhibitions in Mexico and abroad, creating large columns and other pieces inspired by natural landscapes and modern cities.

Torres’ ‘Street stories’ work was laid at the Da Nang-located Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Park amongst the total 21 sculptures from member economies during the APEC Summit last November.

The exchange will start at 9.00am on 7 April at the museum, 78 Le Duan.
