Road users must give way to escort vehicles during APEC summit week

According to the Da Nang Police Department, local road users will give way to some certain types of escort vehicles during the upcoming APEC Economic Leaders’ Week (AELW) which will be taking place from 6-11 November.

In line with the national traffic laws, the regulation, thereby, will help to ensure local traffic safety and security, as well as a civilised urban lifestyle in the city during this international large-scale event.

Road users will be required to give way to police vehicles escorting delegations during AELW, and not to cause any obstructions to the movement of these priority vehicles.  In addition, road users will be not allowed to overtake these moving escort vehicles.

Furthermore, outdoor trading activities, the placement of visual advertisements, the discharge of waste and other issues obstructing the traffic flow will be not permitted along many major local streets. 

These streets include Bach Dang, Tran Phu, Duy Tan, Vo Nguyen Giap, Hoang Sa, Truong Sa, Nguyen Van Linh, Tran Thi Ly, Nguyen Van Thoai, Le Duc Tho, Yet Kieu, Ngu Hanh Son, Ngo Quyen, Ho Xuan Huong, Vo Van Kiet and 2 September.

Administrative punishments will be imposed on any violations of the traffic instructions mentioned above.
