The park will feature a café, a reading space and a rest-stop for locals and visitors.  It will be the first free book reading centre in the downtown community.

The park being built with 45,000 USD, is the first co-operative project between the 2 cities this year.  Of this figure, 30,000 USD will be donated by Daegu, 10,000 USD will come from the Hai Chau District budget, and the remainder from public donations.

Daegu has also agreed to help build an integrated management centre on green and smart urban management in Da Nang.

A new direct flight connecting Da Nang with Daegu was opened in September.  Last year, the city also opened the first green book park in Son Tra District with funds from the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

The first reading space, the Green & Brown Bookstore, comprising a library, a bookstore and a coffee shop, was opened on Tran Cao Van in 2015, and a new municipal library building was opened on Bach Dang.

In particular, Changwon City of the RoK also presented 11,000 Korean language teaching books to the city’s General Science Library and foreign language college last month.

Da Nang has offered free open-air libraries at 102 primary schools for all students and local residents.
