The results were announced by Deputy Minister of the Vietnamese Home Affairs Nguyen Trong Thua at an online meeting on Tuesday in Ha Noi which reviewed the country’s administrative reforms over the first 6 months of the year.  In Da Nang, it was chaired by municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh.

Da Nang gained 90.32 out of 100 points.  Following closely behind were Hai Phong City with 87.24 points and Ha Noi with 85.23.  Hau Giang Province came bottom of the rankings with a score of 62.55.

Vice Chairman Minh proudly said that Da Nang’s remarkable achievements in administrative reform over recent years have been mainly attributed to the great care and timely guidance from the local leaders, and the exemplary actions of local relevant agencies.

He added, “In 2016 and 2017, the focus has been on simplifying and shortening the time for administrative procedures.  Special attention has been paid to issuing ‘one-stop’ mechanisms for handling business, household, and tax code registration dossiers, and for permitting conditional business and production activities at district-level.”

In his closing speech at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh stressed the need for relevant agencies nationwide to strictly implement Prime Minister’s administrative reform-related conclusions.  Importance should be attached to building an e-government system in order to help residents and businesses nationwide deal with their administrative procedures.
