City learns about Singapore's experience in urban planning

During their working trip to Singapore between 16 and 18 April, a group of representatives from the Da Nang authorities, led by municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, met with Singaporean urban planning consultants.

The intention was to learn more about Singapore’s valuable experiences in urban planning and its new urban development model.

During their meeting with representatives from the Centre for Liveable Cities, the Da Nang visitors were introduced to Singapore’s achievements from 1967 until now. 

Moreover, the guests were briefed on short-term and long-term Singaporean urban development plans, especially its priority given to developing green spaces in its cities in a bid to create beautiful urban landscapes and healthy living environment for inhabitants.

In reply, Vice Chairman Tuan revealed that Da Nang is making suitable adjustments to its urban plans with a 5-year roadmap. The city, therefore, is in need of consultancy assistance from the Centre for Liveable Cities to realise its goal of becoming a liveable city in the years ahead.

During their stay in Singapore, the Da Nang visitors were actively engaged in discussing with experts from the Urban Redevelopment Authority, the national urban planning authority of Singapore, about land use planning, the management of land fund and real estate projects, and the auctions for land use rights at property projects.

Furthermore, the Singapore Land Authority enthusiastically shared their experience in compiling the regulations concerning property purchases for various purposes, and tightening the management of public and private land.
