Foreign diplomats extend Tet wishes to city leaders

During his reception on Tuesday for Laotian Consul General Phommaseng Khamsene, municipal Party Committee Secretary Truong Quang Nghia highly praised this Laotian agency for helping to strengthen the time-honoured special traditional friendship between Da Nang and Laotian localities, and between the 2 countries as a whole.

The city leader said he would like the Laotian diplomat to make greater endeavour to boost bilateral cooperation in education and training, and cultural exchanges between Da Nang and Laotian localities in the years ahead.

In reply, Consul General Khamsene thanked the city authorities for their kind support for the promotion of the cooperation between Da Nang and southern localities of Laos for mutual development over recent years.  He also extended the best Tet wishes to the Party, government and people of Da Nang.

On the same day, the Russian Consul General in Da Nang, Mr Brovarets Andrei Petrovich, paid a pre-Tet visit to the city leaders.

Consul General Petrovich wished the municipal Party Committee, the city authorities, and all the local residents good health, happiness and prosperity in the year ahead.  He also congratulated Da Nang on its remarkable achievements last year, especially gaining the comprehensive success of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017. 

He hoped that the city would record even more success this year and become more dynamic and liveable in the years ahead.

In particular, the Russian diplomat invited the city leaders to attend the 4th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) which is scheduled to take place in Russia on 6 and 7 September 2018.

In reply, Secretary Nghia expressed his delight at the fruitful results from bilateral cooperative ties with many Russian localities over recent years.

The city’s top leader also took the opportunity to thank the Consulate General of Russia for joining efforts with the city authorities in hosting warm receptions for Russia’s leaders during their stay in the city whilst attending APEC Week.

The city Party chief also asked for help from the Russian diplomatic agency to boost friendship and cooperation between the city and Russian localities in education, trade, economy and tourism in more effective manner, especially appealing for more Russian visitors to the city in the years ahead.

Also on Tuesday, Mrs Xi Hui, Chinese Consul General in Da Nang, extended Tet greetings to the city leaders. 

The Chinese diplomat vowed that her agency would be actively engaged in accelerating the cooperation between Da Nang and Chinese localities in such major aspects as trade, tourism and education.

In reply, Secretary Nghia underlined significance of opening of the Chinese Consulate General, and hoped that this diplomatic agency would promote their active engagement in fostering the bilateral cooperative relations with Chinese localities in the near future, as well as to lift the Viet Nam- China cooperative relationships to new heights as a whole.

Likewise, on the same day, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho and municipal People’s Council Vice Chairman Nguyen Nho Trung also played host to the above-mentioned Russian, Laotian and Chinese diplomats.
