Between late September and November, numerous start-up support activities will be implemented in Da Nang.

According to a spokesperson for the Da Nang Entrepreneurship Support Company (DNES), an open talk entitled ‘The Power of Artificial Intelligence in Industrial Revolution 4.0’ will take place at 31 Tran Phu on 23 September.  The event will be attended by a number of speakers from the IBM Viet Nam, the Viet Nam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), and the Topica AI Lab start-up company.

At the event, local young people will be introduced to the important role of artificial intelligence, competitive opportunities for start-up businesses, and how to develop successful brand names.  In addition, they will have a chance to learn about the Viet Nam Talent Award 2017 which aims to seek and honour talents in such aspects as science, technology, health care and environment.

In addition, from 29 September to 1 October, the Techstars Startup Weekend Da Nang 2017 will take place at 31 Tran Phu.  This competition is open to all start-up lovers who are living either in Viet Nam or abroad.  In just 54 hours, participants will be required to work in teams, and they will be also asked to together discuss and develop their own business plans with the help of start-up mentors.  The most outstanding teams will advance to the final round.  The finalists will be given a chance to talk with angel investors who will help them develop good ideas.

The Da Nang Bureau of Intellectual Property and DNES will jointly organise an open seminar on intellectual property rights on 14 October.  The intention is to raise the awareness of local start-up businesses about the important role of intellectual property rights in their operation.  The focus will be on presenting some basic and necessary information about intellectual property, and helping local businesses deal with some intellectual property-related problems.

Moreover, young local people will have the opportunity to take part in some start-up events as volunteers.  Included are the Da Nang - HATCH! FAIR the Fifth on 7 October, and the UPSHIFT 2017 on 10 October which is a non-profit programme to help young people aged between 14 and 24 implement their social start-up projects.

In mid-November, the Google Developer Group Mientrung will hold a Google DevFest Hackathon 2017 - the largest of its kind in the city.  This event is expected to attract between 500 and 600 programmers from Da Nang and elsewhere in the central region.
