The National Rowing and Canoeing Clubs Championship began in Da Nang on Thursday.

The event attracted the participation of more than 200 players from 26 cities and provinces nationwide.
Rowers are competing in 19 categories of 2,000m distance, while in canoeing, participants are playing 36 categories of three distances: 1,000m, 500m and 200m.

According to Nguyen Trong Thao, Deputy Director of the Municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Head of the Organising Board, the event’s best athletes will be selected for the national teams to compete in the upcoming international tournaments.

The event, which will end on 12 April , was coorganised by the Viet Nam Rowing Federation and the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports.
