City offers an exciting array of activities for upcoming public holidays

Da Nang will host a wide range of exciting activities for locals and visitors to celebrate the forthcoming National Reunification Day (30 April) and International Labour Day (1 May).

In detail, an exhibition featuring some amazing photos from the recent 9th International Artistic Photo Contest in Viet Nam, will be held at the Museum of Da Nang between 24 April and 2 May.

Also at the museum, on 26 and 27 April, there will be a ceremony for raising the Lunar New Year pole (‘Cay Neu’ in Vietnamese), along with folk singing and dancing performaces by the Xo Dang ethnic minority group in Quang Nam Province’s mountainous Nam Tra My District.

In addition, a series of activities to mark the launching of the Beach Tourism Season 2018 will take place at the East Sea Park from 27 April and 1 May.

From 7.30pm - 9.30pm on 28 April, a special street dance will be held on a section of Tran Hung Dao, between its intersections with Ly Nam De and Trieu Viet Vuong streets. Visitors will be treated to fascinating street parades of live music and dancing. Meanwhile, the ‘Bai choi’ (singing while acting as playing cards) performance will be held on the pavement of Tran Hung Dao at the eastern end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge in Son Tra District. Participation fee is 20,000 VND per person.

Also on 28 April, a street music performance will take place at the western end of the Rong Bridge, opposite the Museum of Cham Sculptures, between 7.30pm and 9.30pm. The event will feature a variety of musical styles, including lively flamenco, fantastic Vietnamese traditional instrumental music, and interesting contemporary music, along with street arts performances.

Furthermore, a fascinating musical performance featuring Vietnamese revolutionary songs, along with brass band and drums playing international music, will take place at the western side of the Rong Dragon Bridge, opposite the Museum of Cham Sculptures, in the evening of 29 April.

The first-ever Vietnamese comedy dance creation camp will be organised at the Trung Vuong theatre on 28 and 29 April.

Notably, the East Sea Park will be enlivened with the arrangement arts of 300 lanterns featuring the official logos of the city’s tourism from 30 April to 30 June.
