A museum representative said the exhibition will present annual prizes for local artists in recognition of the 60th anniversary of Viet Nam Fine Arts Day on 10 December, 2017.

Two seminars on the development of fine art in Central Viet Nam and Highlands, and Viet Nam’s fine art in contemporary development will also be held on 6 December at the museum at 78 Le Duan.

The museum now displays a total of 413 works by artists from the city and other regional localities.

It became as one of popular cultural destinations for tourists after the city-based museums of Cham Sculpture and Da Nang.

The city is well known as a centre for stone arts in the central region, and the craft became more popular during the tourism boom in the early 1990s.
