Nearly VND 2,612 billion for building new-style rural areas in 2021-2023

All 11 communes in Da Nang’s Hoa Vang District met new-style rural standards according to the set of criteria for the 2010-2015 and 2016-2020 periods.

Five out of the 11 communes were recognised as meeting advanced new-style rural standards. 22 out of the 113 villages met model new-style rural standards. Hoa Vang District was recognised by the Prime Minister as a new-style area in 2015.

A total of around VND 2,612 billion was spent on the building of new-style rural areas in the 2021-2023 period. Of which, VND nearly 341.7 billion came from the city budget, more than VND1,472.2 billion from the integrated budget, VND736.2 billion from credit capital, and VND61.8 billion from people’s mobilisation capital source.

20 villages across the district have registered to meet smart village standards. In 2024, Hoa Vang District strives to have at least 2 villages meeting smart village standards. The Da Nang People's Committee agreed to pilot the building of Hoa Phuoc Commune as a smart new-style rural one.

After 3 years of implementing the programme on building new-style rural areas, rural infrastructure has been developed rapidly, especially in transportation, irrigation, and infrastructure systems serving production development. Many specialised production areas have been formed and effective production models have been replicated. Education, health care, culture, and environment have changed significantly. Strong political system, and social order and security have been guaranteed. The quality of life of people in rural areas has been getting better.

The information was released by the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development at a meeting on Friday to review the 3-year implementation of the National Target Program for New Rural Development and identify tasks for the 2024-2025 period.

In the 2024-2025 period, Hoa Vang District strives to have 100% of its communes meet advanced new-style rural area standards, and at least 5 communes achieve model new-style rural areas.

In addition, 2 communes will meet advanced new-style rural standards and 2 others will be recognised as model rural communes by 2024. 4 communes will meet advanced new-style rural standards. Hoa Vang District will be recognised as a town by 2025.

On the occasion, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong presented Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee to 12 collectives and 8 individuals in recognition of their outstanding achievements in implementing the emulation movement "Da Nang joins hands to build new-style rural areas” for the 2021-2023 period. The Da Nang Newspaper was one of the 12 honoured collectives.
