Various exciting activities entertain visitors during DIFF

With about 2 weeks to go to the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2018, the event’s organisers and local relevant agencies are now very busy making joint efforts to prepare well for the most-awaited event of the year, along with support and sideline activities.

Sun Group - the organiser of the DIFF 2018, revealed that, there will be 3 support activities during the 2-month-long festival. 

In detail, the parades of 12 eye-catching flower-decorated vehicles representing the 8 participating countries will take place on 5, 12 and 19 May, and 16, 17, 23 and 24 June.

The vehicles will be decorated with such symbols of the participating countries as their landscapes, historical sites, religions, cultural identities, and beautiful bridges.

In particular, non-stop dances will spread the festive mood to every single corner of the city.

In addition, an international cuisine festival, themed ‘Four Seasons of Scents’, will run from 29 April to 30 June.

The quintessence of gastronomy, delicate food presentations and captivating games are expected to bring inviting sensations and experiences to the visitors during summer.

Furthermore, a joint-performance flashmob show for local students and pupils will take place on 26 April.

Especially, a total of 28 activities will take place by relevant local agencies on the sidelines of the DIFF 2018. 

Notable amongst them will be a ceremony for raising the lunar New Year pole (‘Cay Neu’ in Vietnamese), which is scheduled to take place at the Museum of Da Nang on 30 April and 1 May.

This ritual has been practiced for a long time in the Xo Dang ethnic minority group in Quang Nam Province’s mountainous Nam Tra My District.

A photo exhibition, entitled ‘The Colours of April’ will run at the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts from 26 April to 10 May.

A series of activities to mark the launching of the Beach Tourism Season 2018 will take place at the East Sea Park from 27 April and 1 May.

Photo exhibition ‘The 9th Int’l Artistic Photo Contest in Viet Nam’, organised by the Viet Nam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA), will take place at the Museum of Da Nang on 24 April.

The event will feature 4 important themes: Open, Landscape, Portrait and Daily Life.

The The East Sea Park will be enlivened with the arrangement arts of lanterns featuring the official logos of the city’s tourism from 30 April to 30 June.

In particular, there is a boom in support services in a bid to meet the increasing demand for admiring the spectacular sparkling fireworks display.

The majority of high-rise hotels in the city’s prime locations are offering premiere vantage points for viewing the fireworks.

A spot to admire the fireworks on the 11th storey of a hotel on Tran Hung Dao Street, for instance, is now offered at 1.2 million VND.

Developed by the Dong Vinh Thinh Company, a floating restaurant-shaped, 3-storey tourist boat named ‘Tau Rong Song Han’ (Han River Dragon Boat), is offering tickets valued at 2 million VND, 1.5 million VND and 1.2 million VND per adult on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd storeys respectively on DIFF 2018’s opening performance on 30 April, and the grand finale on 30 June.

Meanwhile, the tickets on 26 May, 2 June and 9 June stand at 1.5 million VND, 1.2 million VND and 1 million VND respectively, depending on the storeys.

Each trip will give the customers onboard the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the colourful bridges which cross the Han River, and admire the wonderful fireworks, and be treated to fascinating fine arts performances onboard.

The installation of the DIFF viewing stands, offering a combined total of 21,000 seats, is underway on the eastern bank of the Han River.

The imposing main stage will be completed by 20 April, and sound systems will be installed along Bach Dang and Tran Hung Dao streets.
