Apart from fully tapping the potential of such popular attractions as the Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park and the Ba Na Hills Resort, the city is now taking more effective measures to promote the city’s MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibition) tourism which might generate high revenues to local tourism businesses.

Since mid-this year, such renowned tour providers as the city’s branches of Vietravel, Saigontourist and Ben Thanh Tourist have been accelerating this type of tourism in a bid to attract more clients from both home and abroad.

Ms Nguyen Thi Kim Lien from the Viet Nam Tourism Joint Stock Co (Vitours), attributed the positive results from the city’s MICE tourism to its good infrastructure system, luxury resorts and hotels featuring high-class convention halls, plus the opening of many direct flights connecting Da Nang with other destinations at home and aboard.

According to Mr Nguyen Van Tai, the Deputy Director of the city's branch of the Ben Thanh Tourist Company, his unit has given the top priority to appealing for even more domestic and foreign clients to book tours to Da Nang.

Ben Thanh has already launched sightseeing tours to the city and its neighbouring localities.  Amongst them, the most highly recommended are the tours, namely ‘Dat Quang Xua’ (The Land of the former Quang Nam-Da Nang Province) and ‘Dau An Mien Trung’ (Impressions about Central Viet Nam).

Mr Tran Chi Cuong, the Deputy Director of municipal Tourism Department, remarked that Da Nang has remained an attractive destination for domestic and foreign travelers, especially those from the Northeast Asian market.

Most notably, over the past 9 months, Da Nang has welcomed 45 cruise ships carrying a total of 52,403 passengers, up 24.5% against the same period last year.

Besides, the city has seen a rise in the number of new direct flights connecting Da Nang with such its key foreign markets as South Korea, China and Japan, thereby bringing more tourists to this beautiful seaside city.

In particular, the city’s International Airport now features a total of 13 scheduled and 16 charter international routes, all of them offering hundreds of flights to the city’s key foreign markets worldwide.

Furthermore, greater efforts have been made to boost bilateral tourism cooperation programmes with the city’s neighbouring provinces of Thua Thien- Hue and Quang Nam, in addition to the organisation of tourism promotion activities in foreign countries to which Da Nang has opened direct flights.
