According to the General Director of the Da Nang Port, Mr Nguyen Huu Sia, between January and September, his Port has taken the initiative to seek new customers of its cargo shipping service  in addition to promoting the development of its logistics services.

Thanks to this, the total volume of cargo transported through the Da Nang Port during that period reached a total of around 6 million tons, fulfilling 80% of the year’s target.  In addition, the total volume of woodchips transported through the Port hit over 11,000 tons per day.  The time for loading woodchips onboard ships is shortened from the currently regulated 6 days to 4 days.

The building of the 2^nd phase of the Tien Sa Port expansion is expected to be completed late next month.  Once operational, this Port will be able to handle a total of 50,000 deadweight tonnage (DWT) container ships and 70,000 DWT synthetic ships.
