The event was jointly organised by the Da Nang Investment and Support Start-up Company (DNES), the Mekong Business Initiative, and Canada’s The Evidence Network (TEN).

Since June this year, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and TEN have jointly implemented a project to evaluate the efficiency of 16 incubator programmes for SMEs from Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Cambodia’s Phnom Penh City.

The focus has been on conducting surveys of the personnel characteristics of participating SMEs, and the influence of incubators on their operation, capacity, and human resources.

In Da Nang, a survey has been conducted on 56 start-up businesses which had received support from the Business Incubators Centre, the Start-up Business Incubators and Innovation CIT – Lotus Hub, and the Support Centre for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).

The results show that 100% of the surveyed businesses feel completely satisfied with the incubator services.  In addition, over 70% of them said that incubator programmes have had positive effects on their business capacity, partner network expanding activities, and market survey programmes.
