The event was jointly organised by the Da Nang People’s Committee and the Ile-de-France Region.

In his speech, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Tuan said Viet Nam-France cooperation in urban development will be accelerated in the near future for the sustainable development of their localities, through which, they will share experience in coping with climate change and issues faced by urban areas.

Architect and urban planner Laurent Perrin from the Institute for Urban Planning and Development of Paris Ile-de-France Region said environmental challenges faced by the Ha Noi capital region also encompass natural and cultural heritages, agriculture and forest land management, pollution and flooding risks.

Several opinions suggested zoning off “buffer spaces” and ecological corridors in urban areas, as well as building “green corridors” into natural parks.
