Over recent years, public investment into Da Nang’s socio-economic sector has produced remarkable achievements and helped further the city’s growth.

According to the city’s Investment Promotion Centre, there is an increasing demand for further developing the infrastructure in such aspects as transport, healthcare, education, the environment and culture.  However, the city’s budget is not large enough to cover all the costs of these projects.

Therefore, the city authorities have made every effort to encourage more individuals and businesses from across the city to invest in local priorities.  In an attempt to obtain better results, a focus has been on issuing more preferential policies on infrastructure lease fees, fee exemption or reduction for land lease prices, registration fees, value-added tax, import and export duties, and corporate income tax for local investors.  In addition, they will have the opportunity to borrow 80% of their projects’ total investment capital from the Investment and Development Fund.

Over recent years, appealing for public investment into the city’s projects has brought many positive results.  In particular, the city has seen a significant rise in the number of educational establishments at all levels.   They are the Duc Minh Economics and Technical and the Thang Long Technical and Training intermediate colleges, the Dong A, Duy Tan and Architecture universities, the Doremon kindergarten, and the SKY-LINE High-quality Education System.  This has helped to enhance the quality of education in the city.

As for healthcare, there have been appeals for public investment into upgrading some local hospitals in order to reduce the problems of overload and raise the quality of medical examinations and treatment for local residents.  These include the Da Nang General, the Maternity and Paediatrics, the Traditional Medicine and the Eye hospitals.

Public donations have also been sought for building public toilets in the city and for planting trees along Truong Sa, and at the flower growing area next to the Novotel Danang Premier Han River and the entertainment area at the Be Hanh Phuc kindergarten.
