Da Nang has spent 6.1 billion VND to upgrade the infrastructure of a clean vegetable growing area in Thach Nham Tay Village in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Nhon Commune.  The 9ha project to meet the Viet Nam good agricultural practices (VietGap) standards is expected to be completed in the 2nd quarter of this year.

Since November 2013, the project’s Management Board has co-operated with the Hoa Nhon Agricultural Cooperative No 1 to grow safe and clean vegetables and fruit to the VietGap standards.  Specifically, bitter melons, squash, cucumbers, mustard greens and salad have been grown on an area of 0.4ha.  After deducting production costs, local farmers earned a profit of up to 56 million VND from their first crop.
